Dear SPaN Member, 


To be eligible for the board of directors, the nominee must confirm all the statements below are true. 

 

  • I understand the responsibilities of a fiduciary of a nonprofit and commit to upholding them, including the duty of care, loyalty, and good faith.

  • I commit to voluntarily disclosing to the Board in a timely manner all potentially perceived and real conflicts of interest.

  • I will attend all regularly scheduled Board Meetings (a minimum of five meetings a year).

  • I will actively participate in at least two Board Committees requiring ongoing meetings or conference calls outside the regular Board Meetings.

  • I will accept responsibility for or assist with coordinating and providing hospitality for one or more SPaN workshops during the year.

  • I will also participate in or host one or more SPaN-sponsored activities, such as IEP clinics, Case Discussion groups, or an event table for SPaN.

  • I commit to regularly engaging in fundraising activities, including but not limited to soliciting sponsorships, memberships, directory listings, auctions, donation drives, workshop sales, and applications for grants, awards, and charitable contributions. 

  • I am a member in good standing and have been at least one year in the past.

  • If a listing member, I have completed 12 hours of professional development within the last year.

  • My 12 hours of professional development are up-to-date on my membership profile. The professional development meets the standards found here:  Credentialing FAQs | Special Needs Advocacy Network, Inc. (spanmass.org)

  • I do not have a prior criminal conviction anywhere in the nation.

  • I do not have a record of sexual offender conviction(s), and I am not on any sex offender registry anywhere in the nation.

  • I have no record of being on any abuse registry anywhere in the nation.
